Project Title
Network Rail Arch Commercial Development
Year
2017
Project Scope
The project involves provision of a new 1MVA 11kV package substation and point of connection to cater the new supply demand for refurbished railway arches in central London area.
Our Scope
- Undertake load studies to determine the load demand and diversity
- Preliminary study to identify the location of the 11kV substation
- Identify the best location for point of connection
- HV substation and cable design in accordance to G81 standards
- LV design covering mains and service cable, joints, CT chamber, cut-outs
- Modelling in WinDEBUT – to check voltage drop and cable sizing
- Prepare material schedule and detailed design pack for approval
Our Key Attributes
- Designed a ‘box within a box’ solution – placing the new 11kV package substation into an existing arch
- Strategically positioned the substation to minimise the distance from the point of connection and reduce the LV voltage drops to optimize the cable and transformer size
