Project Scope
The Government of Kenya plans to add more than 5000 MW of generation to the national grid by the year 2016. As a result, Lamu – Kitui – Nairobi East and Dongo Kundu – Mariakani Transmission line Projects have been proposed for the evacuation of approximately 960 MW from the proposed Lamu 960MW power plant and 700 MW from the proposed Dongo Kundu NLG power plant respectively
Our Scope
- Project Implementation Consultant (PIC) to assist KETRACO throughout the project implementation process, from engineering, procurement, construction, supervision and commissioning of transmission lines and substations, including assistance for the implementation of Environmental Social Management Plan (ESMP) and Resettlement Action Plan (RAP)
Our Key Attributes
- Identified major issues on electrical design clearances and offered KETRACO a feasible and technically compliant solution
- Undertook technology review and risk assessment for the use of High-Capacity Low-Sag’ ACCC (“Aluminium Conductor Composite Core”) conductor for 400kV overhead lines
