Project Scope
Replacement of old Conventional Air Blast (CAB) Circuit Breakers from 132kV up to 400kV that were installed back in 1960’s that has reached their useful asset life or have failed the condition assessment. The project site involves 10 substations around South East of England.
Our Scope
- Check, review and approve the design of the main contractor as their Lead Contractor Design Approval Engineer (LCDAE)
- Responsible for overall design management as per NG TP188 and TP 236
Our Key Attributes
- Contractor‘s design quality and output was effecting the delivery program – utilising our familiarisation with NG standards UKPE provided design guidance to contractor's design team and achieved a remarkable project completion i.e. 11 months for 10 sites
- Significant cost savings – typically contractors are required to provide two LCDAE’s, one for each discipline. However, based on our experience, NG approved the provision of one LCDAE for Substation Plant and Protection.
